    畅友的愿景和梦想

    作者:王利杰(Leo Wang)

    三年前,我是新浪的坚定支持者,我把盛大收购新浪的行动,比作Playboy控股《纽约时报》。三年后,重新审视这两家公司,我发现,盛大命途坎坷,但却在一个有理想的企业家手上。新浪顺风顺水,但却在一帮擅打小算盘的人手上。

    这才是触动我的那一句话。一个企业家,一定要有一个伟 大的梦想,一个值得奋斗的愿景;否则企业就发展成了一帮打小算盘的人挖空心思赚取一些个人利益的机器罢了。那样的企业管理者无法称为合格的企业家,顶多是 个生意人。而陈天桥却是一个有理想的人,无论成败如何,都值得我们敬重!另一个我特别想表达敬意的就是华为的任正非,他是真正的值得敬佩的企业家!

    最近,我也在梳理畅友的愿景和梦想,Keso的一番话让那个我有了把这个愿景和梦想写下来的冲动,而不是仅仅停留在我的大脑里。

    简单讲,畅友是一个基于 PIM的移动社会化网络(SNS)应用,我们赋予了一个新的名词——个人关系管理(PRM)。畅友认为目前广为普及的手机还有许多未被开发完善的潜质;畅 友认为手机应该成为人们管理真实个人关系的主要设备。畅友将致力于提供一套具有革命性的,用户不需要任何学习过程即可高效操作的手机交互体验;畅友认为, 不应该由用户来学习如何操作手机,而应该有手机来学习其主人的操作习惯,最大程度地方便它的主人,成为其主人的贴身伙伴,随身助手。在不远的将来,您可以 想像:

    1. 您的手机将 知道 您喜欢什么,不喜欢什么;
    2. 您的手机将 在最大程度降低您的按键次数的基础上 显示 您期望看到的内容;
    3. 您的手机将 在您打算执行某项操作的时候主动弹出该项操作的 请示
    4. 您的手机将 过滤 任何您不希望看到的信息或接听的来电;
    5. 您的手机将 在您遗失它的时候主动将新主人的号码 发送 给您指定的人;
    6. 您的手机将 在您发起通信的时候为您 呈现 出您对方的忙碌状态;
    7. 您的手机将 在您希望认识某人的时候 提示 您应该通过哪位好友与其建立联系;
    8. 您的手机将 想您所想……

    这就是畅友的伟大梦想及远景,畅友将致力于让手机成为您真正可依赖的“随身助理”!

    请继续关注畅友吧!

    The vision and the dream for Changyou.cc

    After all day's busy schedule, I finally had some time to read via Google reader, and was attracted by an artical from Keso, one of the famous IT blogger in China.

    It's about "a hostile acquisition" story happened 3 years ago, that Shanda - the biggest online game company in China trying to acquire Sina - the biggest online portal in China. But Shanda failed that acquisition because of the "Poison Pill". But that's not the point I was attracted. The best part was that Keso said he used to be the supporter of Sina but after 3 years, when he look back, he found out that Shanda was facing a bumpy road during their growth, though Sina's been developing well; but the point is Shanda is still under control of a passionate entreprenuer with great vison and dream, while Sina's in charged by some prefessional managers who only care about their current business without any vision or dream about the future.

    That's what I've been working out, the vision and dream for Changyou.cc ! This story made me want to write it down, not just keep in mind.

    Simply say, Changyou.cc is a PIM enabled mobile SNS, we think there are plenty of potential powers of mobile phone which have not been developed, mobile phone should be the major device helping peple to manage their relationship, real life relationship. We'll offer a revolutionary way of interacting with mobile phone, users don't need to learn how to play. Actually it'll be the mobile phone that should keep learning the interaction style of its owner, in order to please the owner, to be the mate of the owner. You could imagine, in the near future:

    1. Your mobile phone knows what you like and what you hate;
    2. Your mobile phone displays what you are expecting to see with less button press;
    3. Your mobile phone asks for your permission for the transaction before your expectation;
    4. Your mobile phone filters anything message or incoming call you don't want;
    5. Your mobile phone informs you who's got your mobile phone when you lost it;
    6. Your mobile phone presents you if your friends are avilable before you interrupt them;
    7. Your mobile phone shows you the trail of how to get connected with someone you want to know;
    8. Your mobile phone reads your mind...

    That's our big dream and vision for Changyou.cc, we'll enable mobile phone to be your "handy mate"!

    Stay tuned, we'll deliver what you want just in the right time, to the right screen...

  • Shanghai Surprise by my friend Eduardo, founder of Fidgt.com - a L.A. based startup

    Beneath is a blog post from my friend Eduardo, he's the founder of a mobile SNS startup Fidgt.com, he's got more than 12 year of work experiences at Sony and Apple, and has close connection with Nokia, Moto and lots of other US mobile industry giants and startups.

    He spent half a month here in China, and we shared lots of ideas about mobile internet and SNS, as well as valuable friends.

    Here's his latest post after he went back to L.A. He mentioned me and my startup Changyou, thank Edu for that part, that'll help Changyou to improve my the PR image, thanks :-)

    Shanghai Surprise

    Author: Eduardo Sciammarella the Founder of Fidgt.com

    I just returned from a trip to Shanghai. I was there doing some networking and meeting local entrepreneurs. One of the more interesting people I met was Leo Wang. Leo has a mobile start-up that's focused on combining the phone's address book with social networking.

    Leo calls it Personal Relationship Matching or PRM, as opposed to the familiar PIM. This reminds me of talk about the SDA or social digital assistant replacing the PDA. Leo's company is called Changyou.

    I was very surprised to find a very vibrant start-up scene in Shanghai. There are many local Chinese entrepreneurs as well as foreigners. Another company I met with is called Wealink. Their CEO, Ian Chin, is a very dynamic and forward-thinking person. Wealink is the Chinese version of Linkedin, but with many more features all for free.

    Throughout China there are a number of incubators that are set-up for direct foreign investment. They are very interested in attracting companies in the software and interactive media space. One of the incubators I met with is called MPVC. They can assist in setting up your presence in China, as well as handle accounting, HR, and provide office space. Depending on whether your in a city like Shanghai our further out you can receive all sorts of incentives.

    I did take some time to check out the local fashion scene. Fashion in Shanghai is exploding with little designer shops everywhere. One stroll down Changle Lu and you'll get it straight away. One of the brands that impressed me the most was ENO. Apparently they are venture backed and have their pulse on the street scene.
